Andrew is the founder of the Tooth Company and one of the principle dentists.

After developing a large following at his previous practice in Albany, he decided it was time to put together a team of like minded professionals and share his style of dentistry with the rest of Auckland.
Andrew’s approach to his patients is relaxed, adaptable and caring, and clinically he is a perfectionist. Andrew provides all facets of dentistry including cosmetic dentistry.

Andrew dedicates time each year to travel to a range of international conferences and courses to ensure his skills and knowledge, and the service provided by the Tooth Company, are at the forefront of dental care in New Zealand.

Andrew lives on the North Shore with his wife Emma and daughter Amelia.

Member of the New Zealand Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, New Zealand Society of Sedation in Dentistry, Auckland Dental Association and the New Zealand Dental Association.

Dr James Stone

James graduated with honours from the University of Sheffield Dental School, UK. He worked in general practice for one year before leaving to work in the Head and Neck unit of one of the UK’s busiest District General Hospitals as an oral surgeon. James left this position to take a role at the University of Manchester Dental School, teaching undergraduate dental students and also receiving training from specialists in all aspects of general dentistry. During his time working in hospital, James received an award from the British Dental Association for one of his research publications. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry but is especially interested in oral surgery and endodontics (root canal treatments).

James’ aim is to develop a friendly relationship with each patient based on communication, and good teamwork. The patient is the focus of every treatment plan and they are actively involved in all the decision making.

James enjoys living in Mission Bay and is a keen skier and footballer.

Susan and her family have been North Shore locals for many years. 

She loves the beaches, the walks, and the people on the North Shore. 

Originally from Upper Hutt,  she has found herself supporting the Auckland Blues.

Susan’s friendly and caring nature helps patients to feel at ease in the dental chair. Always keen for you to have a pleasant experience, she listens to what you have to say.

Susan has been at The Tooth Company for more than a decade.  Going for “the gold watch”.

Dr Grady Bower

Grady has completed five years of study in Otago and graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Upon graduation he was awarded the New Zealand Dental Association Prize for General Dental Practice. Returning home to Auckland, he aims to establish himself and provide care to the local community. As a motivated individual he strives to be well respected in the dental community and provide a high standard of treatment that aligns with modern philosophies. He puts people at ease with effective communication and natural interpersonal skills, which allows him to work alongside patients to prevent disease and improve their oral health. He believes visiting the dentist should be a positive experience and strives to build lifelong trust with patients. Depending on the weather conditions you will find Grady out on the water surfing or fishing with friends or playing a round of golf or two. He is a sports fanatic and also enjoys playing and watching rugby and cricket.

Dr Caitlin Agnew

Caitlin completed her BDS in Otago, followed by working for the Auckland District health Board (ADHB) for two years as a maxillo-facial and dental house surgeon. After two years in private practice and a passion for Paediatric Dentistry, she moved to Sydney where she was employed as a Paediatric dental registrar for 3 years at the Sydney Children’s hospital and at the Westmead Centre for Oral health. She completed her DClinDent through the University of Sydney and is a member of the Royal college of dental surgeons, in her speciality.

Caitlin holds the vice-president appointment for the Australasian Academy of Paediatric dentistry. She currently works part-time in private practice, part-time at Starship Children’s hospital, and part-time as a Mum to her active toddler, Theo. Her main interests include paediatric oral surgery and providing care for children with special needs, dental anomalies and enamel defects. Caitlin’s current research ventures include: investigating paediatric oral pathology in a large tertiary referral centre, investigating the family impact of child orofacial cleft and the effectiveness of oral health promotion interventions during adolescence: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

She is currently part of the research team at the Starship Children’s Hospital investigating the Validation of a Respiratory Checklist for children with Cerebral Palsy in New Zealand.

Dr Alice Horncastle

Alice studied for five years at Otago University and graduated with her Bachelor of Dental Surgery with distinction. On graduating she was awarded the NZDA prize for excellence in general dental practice. She has worked as an oral and maxillofacial house officer across Auckland hospitals and is experienced in treating people with different medical conditions and managing dental emergencies. In 2024 she completed the RACDS primary dental sciences examination, passing five papers with commendation.

She considers her gentle demeanour, empathetic approach and active listening skills as being integral to her practice. She aims to empower her patients to improve their oral health in a judgement free setting, while ensuring their experience is comfortable and positive. Her special interests include modern restorative dentistry and oral surgery.

Alice is originally from the UK with family based in Wellington. Outside of work she enjoys playing the flute, exploring the Auckland food and coffee scene and going for walks and runs.

Alice is a member of the New Zealand Dental Association, and is committed to continued education to stay up to date with evidence based practice. 

Dr Claudia Bawden

Claudia studied dentistry at the University of Basel in Switzerland, one of the oldest universities in the world, but one with a focus on the latest techniques and practices. An experienced dentist, having worked as a dentist for over 20 years now in practices across Europe and now Australasia.

Claudia absolutely loves working as a dentist and working alongside others. Her goal is to help her patients keep as many teeth as possible into their senior years and have a well functioning dentition. Her passion is surgery, but she loves all aspects of dentistry. Her focus is to create a relaxed atmosphere where patients feel comfortable and at ease. She practices conservative dentistry and likes to explain the treatment options to patients so they can make informed decisions about their dental health. She is a skilled dentist across all age groups from young children to seniors. 

In her spare time Claudia loves to travel with her husband and two boys. Enjoying the outdoors, skiing and hiking trails throughout NZ.

Stephanie was born and raised in Auckland before heading down to Otago to complete her Bachelor of Dental Surgery with First Class Honours. She was a Dental and Maxillofacial House Officer at Christchurch hospital for a year before transitioning to private practice. She enjoyed looking after locals at Waiheke island before moving back to the mainland and working in Hobsonville. She loves getting to know her patients and tailoring treatments to suit each individual, and believes education and prevention are key to everyone having healthy and confident smiles for life. Her special interests are in restorative dentistry and managing tooth wear.


Stephanie has a little boy who keeps her busy when she’s not at work, and she loves cooking, reading, hiking and traveling.

Dr Sanika Rangnekar

Sanika is an Otago trained general dentist who has over a decade of experience. She takes an empathetic and unhurried approach to a patient’s dental health with the best long-term outcome in mind. Sanika enjoys all aspects of dentistry. Her current areas of special interest are full mouth rehabilitation, restoring worn and broken teeth, wisdom teeth extractions, and dentures. As a holistic practitioner, her most recent area of growth is in Sleep Dentistry and TMJ issues.

After graduation in 2014, Sanika worked at Christchurch Hospital for two years where she passed her Primary Examinations with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. This time also allowed her to hone her surgical skills. She has been in private practice since and attends high quality dental courses to continuously grow her skills. Sanika takes a thorough approach to her examinations and treatments, utilising high resolution photographs at every step to ensure meticulous work.

Sanika loves spending time with her family, including two children. An avid foodie – she enjoys learning about the science of food, especially from her favourite chef, J Kenji Lopez-Alt and loves cooking for friends and family. She is also a cricket fan, having played at domestic level herself.

Marcela is an expert Dental Surgeon who combines precision with a calm, reassuring presence, ensuring every visit is effortless. With a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (2014) and a Master’s in Dentistry, she delivers high-quality care across all areas of dentistry, specialising in surgical, restorative, and cosmetic treatments.

Originally from Brazil, Marcela began her career in public health, treating complex cases in underserved communities. Since 2018, she’s been a trusted member of The Tooth Company team.

Marcela provides honest, tailored advice and stays up-to-date with the latest advancements through continuous training and research. Her focus on minimally invasive techniques ensures excellent results with a comfortable experience.

Outside the clinic, Marcela enjoys life with her husband and son, often exploring the outdoors. A brown belt in Jiu-Jitsu, she loves all things movement, bringing that same focus and energy to everything she does.

Katy Monk

Katy has over 20 years experience in the dental industry working in various roles in both New Zealand and Australia. While she very much enjoyed dental assisting, she decided to further her scope of expertise and graduated with a diploma in Dental Hygiene in 2011. She has since worked as a Hygienist in not only Perth, but also Christchurch and Auckland.

Katy has two boys who are both now in primary school, which keep her very busy when she’s not working! When she does have spare time, she loves to go on fun adventures with her Huntaway X dog, enjoys playing various board games with her husband & having the occasional brunch with the girls!

Patients comfort and ease is top priority for Katy and she believes that a good patient and clinician relationship is paramount to achieve great treatment results.

Top dental advice: Treat your password like your toothbrush – don’t let anyone else use it, and get a new one every 3 months!!

Sarah Clarke 


Sarah came to New Zealand two years ago from Ireland and has been with The Tooth Company ever since. In Ireland she worked in an emergency dental clinic as a trainee dental assistant, during that time she gained a lot of valuable skills and a passion for the dental industry. 

Sarah enjoys all aspects of dentistry and likes to learn different approaches to procedures from the dentists. She loves working at The Tooth Company as she feels it’s a great place to develop both personally and professionally. 

Outside of work, Sarah is an avid sports fan and enjoys watching rugby and Formula 1. She also loves spending time with friends and family.

Joylene Doncaster


With over seven years of experience in the dental industry in both New Zealand and Australia, Joylene returned home to earn a Bachelor of Health Science (Oral Health) degree from AUT. She has worked in the public sector, providing dental therapy to children from birth to Year 8 with the Auckland Regional Dental Service (Waitemata District Health Board).

Joylene is passionate about improving oral health and well-being through education and high-quality dental care. She believes that knowledge is key to maintaining a healthy smile. Joylene is dedicated to creating a welcoming, comfortable environment for every patient, especially those who feel anxious.

When she’s not saving teeth, Joylene enjoys spending some quality time with her friends and family, hitting pilates, whipping up a cake from time to time, and travelling when she can.

Victoria Arreola

Victoria graduated at the University of Otago with a bachelor of Science majoring in Psychology in 2012, and a bachelor of Oral Health in 2015. Since graduating she has worked in private practice in Dunedin, as well as tutoring Oral Health students at the Dental School. Moving back up to Auckland had been a welcoming feeling as she is now closer to her family and friends.

Victoria’s main focus at work is to provide a pleasant and comfortable environment for her patients, especially those with a dental phobia. She is passionate about improving oral health wellbeing through education and excellent dental service. Victoria maintains her knowledge and experience by attending professional development lectures and courses. She is a member of the New Zealand Dental Association and the New Zealand Oral Health Association.

Outside of work Victoria enjoys reading, practising water colour painting, improving her culinary skills, and spending time going for walks or being at the beach with her husband and 4month old daughter Ava.

Marjan Taheraslani

Marjan graduated in 2010 with a DDS (Doctorate of Dental Surgery) in Iran.
She worked as a dentist for 14 years and enjoys all aspects of dentistry.
Recently, she began the Ortho Auxiliary course under the supervision of Dr. Tania and is now working with us as a trainee.


Outside of work, Marjan loves yoga, enjoys walking, and spending time outdoors.

Elyzia completed her Bachelor’s in Oral Health in 2018 (Otago). She strives for a comfortable dental environment to promote a positive perspective on dentistry for future preventative care of her patients

Her service is supported by an abundance of knowledge and expertise from working closely with our Paediatric and Orthodontic Specialists, additionally providing periodontal treatment, oral health education, and whitening services.

Hi, My name is Katrina, I am an Oral Health Therapist who is dual trained in Dental Therapy and Dental Hygiene. I graduated from Auckland University of Technology in 2018, and have worked as a full time dental therapist at the Waikato District Health Board looking after children and adolescents and also part time working for a private dental practice providing hygiene treatments . One of my strengths would be my delicate hand skills which help me provide gentle care for our patients. I am very passionate about working in the dental industry and continue to strive to provide the most current treatment approaches.

On my days off I enjoy getting out in the fresh air and going fishing with friends. I also have a creative side and enjoy painting, pottery.

Jasmine  graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Oral Health degree in 2018 and has since been working in Whangarei with a wide range of patient cases, which allowed her to radically upskill both treatment and management of gum disease.

She understands that being at the dentists can be quite stressful for some people so providing a comfortable experience where patients are able to take charge of their oral health is very important to me. She firmly believes that prevention is the best treatment and likes taking a holistic approach to motivate her patients to achieve good oral health. She really enjoys working with her patients to provide personalised and realistic homecare to positively impact their oral health.

Outside of work she is a huge foodie and enjoys exploring new restaurants and cuisines. Other than eating she also enjoys hiking and travelling!

Beyond the clinic, Fiona is an avid traveller, drawing inspiration from new cultures and a talented crafter in her spare time. Whether refining her clinical skills or exploring creative pursuits, she brings the same dedication and precision to everything she does.

Katherine Malan


Katherine firmly believes that when a team is well-supported, patients receive the highest level of care. As Practice Manager at The Tooth Company Smales Farm, she’s the driving force behind creating a smooth, positive experience for every patient who walks through the door.

Since joining the team in 2020, Katherine has brought a wealth of experience across sales, marketing, training, administration, and HR. Her career journey naturally led her to leadership, stepping in as interim manager and quickly becoming an indispensable part of the Smales Farm team.

Katherine is passionate about people—supporting her team to thrive so they can deliver care with confidence, empathy, and excellence. Her focus on workplace culture, wellbeing, and seamless operations makes her a key part of The Tooth Company’s success.

Outside of work, you’ll find Katherine at a 5:45 am Pilates session or enjoying her well-earned oat milk mocha (medium or large—depending on the day!).

Winny Pillay

Winny started her dental career as a dental assistant followed by clinical manager in The Tooth Company Eastridge a few years ago. Her experiences, reliable personality and organised manner earned her practice manager role. Her goal is ensuring day to day operations always go smoothly for the patients and the team.

Outside work, Winny enjoys spending time with her 6 year old boy and 11 year old girl. Winny loves music and definitely enjoys being part of the worship team in her local church which her family always serves on Sunday.

Tayla Norris


Tayla brings years of experience and a passion for paediatric care to her role as Clinical Manager and Paediatric Assistant at The Tooth Company. Specialising in creating a positive and comfortable environment for all patients, Tayla ensures that even the youngest patients have a stress-free and enjoyable visit to the dentist.

In her role, Tayla manages clinical operations, supports the team, and maintains strong relationships with patients, always prioritising exceptional care and smooth communication. Her dedication to her work and her warm, friendly approach makes her a valued part of the team.

When she’s not at the clinic, Tayla loves to spend time with her family and friends, discover new restaurants, and attend concerts.

Shaelyn Maihi


Kia Ora, my name is Shaelyn and I joined the team at The Tooth Company Eastridge at the beginning of 2021.

My main focus at work is to provide an environment that makes everyone who walks through our doors feel welcome and comfortable. I am dedicated to helping with every step of your dental visit from scheduling appointments to answering any questions.

When I’m not working I enjoy kapa haka, travelling and playing touch rugby.

Suzy Gilmour


Suzy’s passion has always been holistic health with a focus on patient centered care. Her goal is to make patients feel at ease the moment they walk through the door. 

With a degree in human biology and a medical background, she understands the importance of quality healthcare and aims to make this process as seamless and efficient as possible, ensuring patients leave with a smile on their face.  

Outside of work she spends her time teaching Thai kickboxing, traveling and working on her Masters degree.

Zoe Harwood


Zoe is in her final year studying Management and Marketing, and has several years of experience working part-time as a receptionist at The Tooth Company, Smales Farm. She loves making patients feel welcome and being part of a team that delivers great care.

With a natural talent for communication, Zoe’s all about the little things; she’s organised, thoughtful, and always puts in the effort to make every interaction a good one.

When she’s not working or studying, Zoe loves running. She’s currently training for her first of many running events.

Gill McGregor


Gill emigrated to New Zealand 20 years ago from Scotland . She trained & graduated from Glasgow Dental School and has a huge wealth of experience including hospital , general practice & specialists clinics . She also has Postgraduate qualification in Sedation . Gill loves the Kiwi lifestyle & enjoys walking , doing ballet barre class & being with family .

Katrina Cabato


Katrina joined Tooth Company mid November 2023 as a Dental Assistant. She is a Registered Nurse in the Philippines and have been working as a Caregiver for more than 8 years here in New Zealand. Katrina can speak English, Tagalog and Ilokano (Philippines language and dialect). In her spare time she enjoys spending time with mhery daughter, walking, running and cooking. Believing that everyday is a learning experience and she is grateful for it.

Gabriela Mendess 


Gabriela joined the team as a dental assistant with prior experience in the field. She enjoys the fast-paced environment of the clinic and learning more about different dental procedures. She loves interacting with patients and helping them feel comfortable during their visits.

Outside of work, Gabriela creates content for social media, combining her passion for beauty and creativity. She also enjoys staying active, spending time with friends, and discovering new cafes around Auckland.

Cynthia Redden


 Cynthia is currently working as a dental assistant alongside a specialist paediatric dentist while studying a Bachelor of Oral Health to become an Oral Health Therapist. 

She is passionate about oral health and loves helping people and working with kids. If she’s not working she is studying, at the gym or hanging out with friends.

Monica Narasimalu


Monica, a dental professional, relocated from India to New Zealand in 2018 to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health from Massey University.

After working as an Oral Health Promoter, she joined the Tooth Company (Smales Farm) as a dental assistant in 2021.

Currently, Monica is preparing for her Australian Dental Council exams to become a registered dentist in New Zealand.

In her free time, she enjoys painting nature scenes and watching crime or romance series on Netflix.

Erin Malan


Erin holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Pharmacology and Physiology and is tackling her

Postgraduate Diploma in Science (PGDipSci) in Pharmacology. By day (well, Saturdays

mostly), she’s one of your go-to dental assistants. Still, you might also spot her throughout

the week lending a hand at The Tooth Company Orthodontic clinic or helping out with our

littlest patients and those with some extra sparkle as they head off to sleep with our

paediatric specialist, Dr Caitlin. When she’s not at work, Erin enjoys exploring the outdoors

with her English staffy, Pepper, or winding down with a good book and a cup of tea.

Ellie, having completed a bachelors in Business, discovered a passion for the dental industry. She’s been part of The Tooth Company Smales Farm family for a number of years, finishing the NZDA course last year. Her happy nature makes our clinic a calm place, often easing patients who are anxious.

Dr Saleem Essop

Saleem was born in South Africa and moved to New Zealand along with his family when he was 8 years old. He graduated from Dental school in 2017 and went on to complete a Bachelor of Science majoring in Anatomy in 2020. In the pursuit of seeking out the latest techniques and implementing them into his daily practice, he has completed clinical training courses in multiple countries including the USA where he holds a practising license and is Board Certified.

He understands that most patients feel anxious and approaches them in a gentle and caring manner. Saleem finds joy in helping his patients overcome their dental fear while providing exceptional care which he prides himself on. He has a keen interest in restorative and preventative dentistry and enjoys having his patients involved in creating personally tailored treatment plans. Apart from fixing teeth and improving smiles, Saleem enjoys rugby, fishing, travelling and sampling local foods.

Hannah Wallis


Hannah is a receptionist here at The Tooth Company, Eastridge. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with friends, baking and cake decorating, and looking after her dog Holly. Hannah looks forward to welcoming you to The Tooth Company Eastridge.

Hello, my name is Jacob Hallinan and I joined The Tooth Company in 2023.
I love to meet new people and offer my help to anyone I may come across. I am also always happy to have a chat.
On my days off I enjoy exploring Auckland on my motorbike and spending quality time with my family and friends.

Zita is a receptionist at The Tooth Company, Eastridge.
Her aim is to make everyone who comes into the clinic feel comfortable and loves welcoming new people in.
She is currently working towards her conjoint Law and Arts degree and in her spare time enjoys being active outside, reading and spending time with friends.

Caitlin completed her BDS in Otago, followed by working for the Auckland District health Board (ADHB) for two years as a maxillo-facial and dental house surgeon. After two years in private practice and a passion for Paediatric Dentistry, she moved to Sydney where she was employed as a Paediatric dental registrar for 3 years at the Sydney Children’s hospital and at the Westmead Centre for Oral health. She completed her DClinDent through the University of Sydney and is a member of the Royal college of dental surgeons, in her speciality.

Caitlin holds the vice-president appointment for the Australasian Academy of Paediatric dentistry. She currently works part-time in private practice, part-time at Starship Children’s hospital, and part-time as a Mum to her active toddler, Theo. Her main interests include paediatric oral surgery and providing care for children with special needs, dental anomalies and enamel defects. Caitlin’s current research ventures include: investigating paediatric oral pathology in a large tertiary referral centre, investigating the family impact of child orofacial cleft and the effectiveness of oral health promotion interventions during adolescence: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

She is currently part of the research team at the Starship Children’s Hospital investigating the Validation of a Respiratory Checklist for children with Cerebral Palsy in New Zealand.

Dr Alice Horncastle

Alice studied for five years at Otago University and graduated with her Bachelor of Dental Surgery with distinction. On graduating she was awarded the NZDA prize for excellence in general dental practice. She has worked as an oral and maxillofacial house officer across Auckland hospitals and is experienced in treating people with different medical conditions and managing dental emergencies. In 2024 she completed the RACDS primary dental sciences examination, passing five papers with commendation.

She considers her gentle demeanour, empathetic approach and active listening skills as being integral to her practice. She aims to empower her patients to improve their oral health in a judgement free setting, while ensuring their experience is comfortable and positive. Her special interests include modern restorative dentistry and oral surgery.

Alice is originally from the UK with family based in Wellington. Outside of work she enjoys playing the flute, exploring the Auckland food and coffee scene and going for walks and runs.

Alice is a member of the New Zealand Dental Association, and is committed to continued education to stay up to date with evidence based practice. 

Dr Claudia Bawden

Claudia studied dentistry at the University of Basel in Switzerland, one of the oldest universities in the world, but one with a focus on the latest techniques and practices. An experienced dentist, having worked as a dentist for over 20 years now in practices across Europe and now Australasia.

Claudia absolutely loves working as a dentist and working alongside others. Her goal is to help her patients keep as many teeth as possible into their senior years and have a well functioning dentition. Her passion is surgery, but she loves all aspects of dentistry. Her focus is to create a relaxed atmosphere where patients feel comfortable and at ease. She practices conservative dentistry and likes to explain the treatment options to patients so they can make informed decisions about their dental health. She is a skilled dentist across all age groups from young children to seniors. 

In her spare time Claudia loves to travel with her husband and two boys. Enjoying the outdoors, skiing and hiking trails throughout NZ.

Dr Stephanie Lee

Stephanie was born and raised in Auckland before heading down to Otago to complete her Bachelor of Dental Surgery with First Class Honours. She was a Dental and Maxillofacial House Officer at Christchurch hospital for a year before transitioning to private practice. She enjoyed looking after locals at Waiheke island before moving back to the mainland and working in Hobsonville. She loves getting to know her patients and tailoring treatments to suit each individual, and believes education and prevention are key to everyone having healthy and confident smiles for life. Her special interests are in restorative dentistry and managing tooth wear.


Stephanie has a little boy who keeps her busy when she’s not at work, and she loves cooking, reading, hiking and traveling.

Dr Sanika Rangnekar

Sanika is an Otago trained general dentist who has over a decade of experience. She takes an empathetic and unhurried approach to a patient’s dental health with the best long-term outcome in mind. Sanika enjoys all aspects of dentistry. Her current areas of special interest are full mouth rehabilitation, restoring worn and broken teeth, wisdom teeth extractions, and dentures. As a holistic practitioner, her most recent area of growth is in Sleep Dentistry and TMJ issues.

After graduation in 2014, Sanika worked at Christchurch Hospital for two years where she passed her Primary Examinations with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. This time also allowed her to hone her surgical skills. She has been in private practice since and attends high quality dental courses to continuously grow her skills. Sanika takes a thorough approach to her examinations and treatments, utilising high resolution photographs at every step to ensure meticulous work.

Sanika loves spending time with her family, including two children. An avid foodie – she enjoys learning about the science of food, especially from her favourite chef, J Kenji Lopez-Alt and loves cooking for friends and family. She is also a cricket fan, having played at domestic level herself.

Originally from Brazil, Marcela began her career in public health, treating complex cases in underserved communities. Since 2018, she’s been a trusted member of The Tooth Company team.

Marcela provides honest, tailored advice and stays up-to-date with the latest advancements through continuous training and research. Her focus on minimally invasive techniques ensures excellent results with a comfortable experience.

Outside the clinic, Marcela enjoys life with her husband and son, often exploring the outdoors. A brown belt in Jiu-Jitsu, she loves all things movement, bringing that same focus and energy to everything she does.

Katy Monk

Katy has over 20 years experience in the dental industry working in various roles in both New Zealand and Australia. While she very much enjoyed dental assisting, she decided to further her scope of expertise and graduated with a diploma in Dental Hygiene in 2011. She has since worked as a Hygienist in not only Perth, but also Christchurch and Auckland.

Katy has two boys who are both now in primary school, which keep her very busy when she’s not working! When she does have spare time, she loves to go on fun adventures with her Huntaway X dog, enjoys playing various board games with her husband & having the occasional brunch with the girls!

Patients comfort and ease is top priority for Katy and she believes that a good patient and clinician relationship is paramount to achieve great treatment results.

Top dental advice: Treat your password like your toothbrush – don’t let anyone else use it, and get a new one every 3 months!!

Sarah Clarke 


Sarah came to New Zealand two years ago from Ireland and has been with The Tooth Company ever since. In Ireland she worked in an emergency dental clinic as a trainee dental assistant, during that time she gained a lot of valuable skills and a passion for the dental industry. 

Sarah enjoys all aspects of dentistry and likes to learn different approaches to procedures from the dentists. She loves working at The Tooth Company as she feels it’s a great place to develop both personally and professionally. 

Outside of work, Sarah is an avid sports fan and enjoys watching rugby and Formula 1. She also loves spending time with friends and family.

Joylene Doncaster


With over seven years of experience in the dental industry in both New Zealand and Australia, Joylene returned home to earn a Bachelor of Health Science (Oral Health) degree from AUT. She has worked in the public sector, providing dental therapy to children from birth to Year 8 with the Auckland Regional Dental Service (Waitemata District Health Board).

Joylene is passionate about improving oral health and well-being through education and high-quality dental care. She believes that knowledge is key to maintaining a healthy smile. Joylene is dedicated to creating a welcoming, comfortable environment for every patient, especially those who feel anxious.

When she’s not saving teeth, Joylene enjoys spending some quality time with her friends and family, hitting pilates, whipping up a cake from time to time, and travelling when she can.

Victoria Arreola

Victoria graduated at the University of Otago with a bachelor of Science majoring in Psychology in 2012, and a bachelor of Oral Health in 2015. Since graduating she has worked in private practice in Dunedin, as well as tutoring Oral Health students at the Dental School. Moving back up to Auckland had been a welcoming feeling as she is now closer to her family and friends.

Victoria’s main focus at work is to provide a pleasant and comfortable environment for her patients, especially those with a dental phobia. She is passionate about improving oral health wellbeing through education and excellent dental service. Victoria maintains her knowledge and experience by attending professional development lectures and courses. She is a member of the New Zealand Dental Association and the New Zealand Oral Health Association.

Outside of work Victoria enjoys reading, practising water colour painting, improving her culinary skills, and spending time going for walks or being at the beach with her husband and 4month old daughter Ava.

Marjan Taheraslani

Marjan graduated in 2010 with a DDS (Doctorate of Dental Surgery) in Iran.
She worked as a dentist for 14 years and enjoys all aspects of dentistry.
Recently, she began the Ortho Auxiliary course under the supervision of Dr. Tania and is now working with us as a trainee.


Outside of work, Marjan loves yoga, enjoys walking, and spending time outdoors.

Hi, My name is Katrina, I am an Oral Health Therapist who is dual trained in Dental Therapy and Dental Hygiene. I graduated from Auckland University of Technology in 2018, and have worked as a full time dental therapist at the Waikato District Health Board looking after children and adolescents and also part time working for a private dental practice providing hygiene treatments . One of my strengths would be my delicate hand skills which help me provide gentle care for our patients. I am very passionate about working in the dental industry and continue to strive to provide the most current treatment approaches.

On my days off I enjoy getting out in the fresh air and going fishing with friends. I also have a creative side and enjoy painting, pottery.

Jasmine  graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Oral Health degree in 2018 and has since been working in Whangarei with a wide range of patient cases, which allowed her to radically upskill both treatment and management of gum disease.

She understands that being at the dentists can be quite stressful for some people so providing a comfortable experience where patients are able to take charge of their oral health is very important to me. She firmly believes that prevention is the best treatment and likes taking a holistic approach to motivate her patients to achieve good oral health. She really enjoys working with her patients to provide personalised and realistic homecare to positively impact their oral health.

Outside of work she is a huge foodie and enjoys exploring new restaurants and cuisines. Other than eating she also enjoys hiking and travelling!

Katherine Malan


Katherine firmly believes that when a team is well-supported, patients receive the highest level of care. As Practice Manager at The Tooth Company Smales Farm, she’s the driving force behind creating a smooth, positive experience for every patient who walks through the door.

Since joining the team in 2020, Katherine has brought a wealth of experience across sales, marketing, training, administration, and HR. Her career journey naturally led her to leadership, stepping in as interim manager and quickly becoming an indispensable part of the Smales Farm team.

Katherine is passionate about people—supporting her team to thrive so they can deliver care with confidence, empathy, and excellence. Her focus on workplace culture, wellbeing, and seamless operations makes her a key part of The Tooth Company’s success.

Winny started her dental career as a dental assistant followed by clinical manager in The Tooth Company Eastridge a few years ago. Her experiences, reliable personality and organised manner earned her practice manager role. Her goal is ensuring day to day operations always go smoothly for the patients and the team.

Outside work, Winny enjoys spending time with her 6 year old boy and 11 year old girl. Winny loves music and definitely enjoys being part of the worship team in her local church which her family always serves on Sunday.

Tayla Norris


Tayla brings years of experience and a passion for paediatric care to her role as Clinical Manager and Paediatric Assistant at The Tooth Company. Specialising in creating a positive and comfortable environment for all patients, Tayla ensures that even the youngest patients have a stress-free and enjoyable visit to the dentist.

In her role, Tayla manages clinical operations, supports the team, and maintains strong relationships with patients, always prioritising exceptional care and smooth communication. Her dedication to her work and her warm, friendly approach makes her a valued part of the team.

When she’s not at the clinic, Tayla loves to spend time with her family and friends, discover new restaurants, and attend concerts.

Shaelyn Maihi


Kia Ora, my name is Shaelyn and I joined the team at The Tooth Company Eastridge at the beginning of 2021.

My main focus at work is to provide an environment that makes everyone who walks through our doors feel welcome and comfortable. I am dedicated to helping with every step of your dental visit from scheduling appointments to answering any questions.

When I’m not working I enjoy kapa haka, travelling and playing touch rugby.

Suzy Gilmour


Suzy’s passion has always been holistic health with a focus on patient centered care. Her goal is to make patients feel at ease the moment they walk through the door. 

With a degree in human biology and a medical background, she understands the importance of quality healthcare and aims to make this process as seamless and efficient as possible, ensuring patients leave with a smile on their face.  

Outside of work she spends her time teaching Thai kickboxing, traveling and working on her Masters degree.

Zoe Harwood


Zoe is in her final year studying Management and Marketing, and has several years of experience working part-time as a receptionist at The Tooth Company, Smales Farm. She loves making patients feel welcome and being part of a team that delivers great care.

With a natural talent for communication, Zoe’s all about the little things; she’s organised, thoughtful, and always puts in the effort to make every interaction a good one.

When she’s not working or studying, Zoe loves running. She’s currently training for her first of many running events.

Gill McGregor


Gill emigrated to New Zealand 20 years ago from Scotland . She trained & graduated from Glasgow Dental School and has a huge wealth of experience including hospital , general practice & specialists clinics . She also has Postgraduate qualification in Sedation . Gill loves the Kiwi lifestyle & enjoys walking , doing ballet barre class & being with family .

Katrina Cabato


Katrina joined Tooth Company mid November 2023 as a Dental Assistant. She is a Registered Nurse in the Philippines and have been working as a Caregiver for more than 8 years here in New Zealand. Katrina can speak English, Tagalog and Ilokano (Philippines language and dialect). In her spare time she enjoys spending time with mhery daughter, walking, running and cooking. Believing that everyday is a learning experience and she is grateful for it.

Gabriela Mendess 


Gabriela joined the team as a dental assistant with prior experience in the field. She enjoys the fast-paced environment of the clinic and learning more about different dental procedures. She loves interacting with patients and helping them feel comfortable during their visits.

Outside of work, Gabriela creates content for social media, combining her passion for beauty and creativity. She also enjoys staying active, spending time with friends, and discovering new cafes around Auckland.

Cynthia Redden


 Cynthia is currently working as a dental assistant alongside a specialist paediatric dentist while studying a Bachelor of Oral Health to become an Oral Health Therapist. 

She is passionate about oral health and loves helping people and working with kids. If she’s not working she is studying, at the gym or hanging out with friends.

Monica Narasimalu


Monica, a dental professional, relocated from India to New Zealand in 2018 to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health from Massey University.

After working as an Oral Health Promoter, she joined the Tooth Company (Smales Farm) as a dental assistant in 2021.

Currently, Monica is preparing for her Australian Dental Council exams to become a registered dentist in New Zealand.

In her free time, she enjoys painting nature scenes and watching crime or romance series on Netflix.

Erin Malan


Erin holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Pharmacology and Physiology and is tackling her

Postgraduate Diploma in Science (PGDipSci) in Pharmacology. By day (well, Saturdays

mostly), she’s one of your go-to dental assistants. Still, you might also spot her throughout

the week lending a hand at The Tooth Company Orthodontic clinic or helping out with our

littlest patients and those with some extra sparkle as they head off to sleep with our

paediatric specialist, Dr Caitlin. When she’s not at work, Erin enjoys exploring the outdoors

with her English staffy, Pepper, or winding down with a good book and a cup of tea.

Ellie, having completed a bachelors in Business, discovered a passion for the dental industry. She’s been part of The Tooth Company Smales Farm family for a number of years, finishing the NZDA course last year. Her happy nature makes our clinic a calm place, often easing patients who are anxious.

Dr Saleem Essop

Saleem was born in South Africa and moved to New Zealand along with his family when he was 8 years old. He graduated from Dental school in 2017 and went on to complete a Bachelor of Science majoring in Anatomy in 2020. In the pursuit of seeking out the latest techniques and implementing them into his daily practice, he has completed clinical training courses in multiple countries including the USA where he holds a practising license and is Board Certified.

He understands that most patients feel anxious and approaches them in a gentle and caring manner. Saleem finds joy in helping his patients overcome their dental fear while providing exceptional care which he prides himself on. He has a keen interest in restorative and preventative dentistry and enjoys having his patients involved in creating personally tailored treatment plans. Apart from fixing teeth and improving smiles, Saleem enjoys rugby, fishing, travelling and sampling local foods.

Hannah Wallis


Hannah is a receptionist here at The Tooth Company, Eastridge. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with friends, baking and cake decorating, and looking after her dog Holly. Hannah looks forward to welcoming you to The Tooth Company Eastridge.

I love to meet new people and offer my help to anyone I may come across. I am also always happy to have a chat.
On my days off I enjoy exploring Auckland on my motorbike and spending quality time with my family and friends.

Zita Sumich


Zita is a receptionist at The Tooth Company, Eastridge.
Her aim is to make everyone who comes into the clinic feel comfortable and loves welcoming new people in.
She is currently working towards her conjoint Law and Arts degree and in her spare time enjoys being active outside, reading and spending time with friends.
