Andrew is the founder of the Tooth Company and one of the principle dentists.

After developing a large following at his previous practice in Albany, he decided it was time to put together a team of like minded professionals and share his style of dentistry with the rest of Auckland.
Andrew’s approach to his patients is relaxed, adaptable and caring, and clinically he is a perfectionist. Andrew provides all facets of dentistry including cosmetic dentistry.

Andrew dedicates time each year to travel to a range of international conferences and courses to ensure his skills and knowledge, and the service provided by the Tooth Company, are at the forefront of dental care in New Zealand.

Andrew lives on the North Shore with his wife Emma and daughter Amelia.

Dr James Stone

James graduated with honours from the University of Sheffield Dental School, UK. He worked in general practice for one year before leaving to work in the Head and Neck unit of one of the UK’s busiest District General Hospitals as an oral surgeon. James left this position to take a role at the University of Manchester Dental School, teaching undergraduate dental students and also receiving training from specialists in all aspects of general dentistry. During his time working in hospital, James received an award from the British Dental Association for one of his research publications. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry but is especially interested in oral surgery and endodontics (root canal treatments).

James’ aim is to develop a friendly relationship with each patient based on communication, and good teamwork. The patient is the focus of every treatment plan and they are actively involved in all the decision making.

James enjoys living in Mission Bay and is a keen skier and footballer.

Susan balances working at The Tooth Company with teaching students in the Bachelor of Oral Health programme at AUT, North Shore.

Susan and her family have been North Shore locals for many years.

Dr Jonathan Luke

Jonathan has joined The Tooth Company team after working in private practice in Singapore for the past 2 years. He graduated from Otago University with Credit and worked for Hutt Valley DHB, the Department of Corrections and a central Wellington dental clinic before seeking out warmer weather in Asia.

In Singapore, he worked with a very diverse group of patients and enjoys meeting people young and old from all over the world. He recently went to Guatemala to volunteer his services to the children living in the Mayan village of San Martín Jilotepeque. He is looking to volunteer closer to home again next year.

Jonathan is a regular attender of continuing education and in 2013 completed his primary exams for the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.

Outside of work, Jonathan is looking forward to making the most of the NZ lifestyle and enjoys fishing, golf and summer barbecues.

Dr Margie Paterson

Margie graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Otago University with distinction. Since graduating she has worked as a maxillofacial house surgeon in Waikato hospital. Here she developed her love for oral surgery and paediatric dentistry (kids dentistry), all the while fine tuning her conventional dentistry skills. 

Continuing her education, Margie has completed the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons primary exams in which she received five out of six commendations. This allowed her to continue learning new skills as well as keep up with the current best practices and advances in dental research.

Margie has a passion for community dentistry and is a founder of the Island Of Smiles dental charity. She has recently completed two successful missions to small villages in Fiji providing relief of pain and preventative dentistry. 

In her spare time Margie enjoys running, playing netball and exploring her new home in the North Shore.

Dr. Anna Robinson graduated in 2004 from the university of Otago. During her undergraduate training Anna was awarded the 2001 oral B scholarship for the top overall student in her year for academic, cultural, service and sporting achievements

After graduating she returned to her hometown Hamilton, and spent the next 9 years in private practice
Anna relocated to Auckland with her family in 2014, and joined The Tooth Company in May 2016.

Dr Robinson prides herself as being a very gentle and caring dentist with a special interest in extractions and all restorative work. She has the kindness and knowledge that comes with over 10 years of dental experience 

Anna lives in Remuera with her husband Grant and her 2 young children Liam and Penny

Originally from Christchurch, Amanda completed a science degree at Canterbury and then graduated from Otago Dental School in 1993. 

After a year in Te Awamutu she moved to Auckland and has practised here ever since. 

She enjoys providing a wide range of dentistry including cosmetic crown and veneer treatments and likes to keep up with the latest innovations and techniques. 
Amanda lives in Titirangi with her partner Axel and 2 children Frank and Iris.

Originally from Auckland, Dr MacAvoy started her career as a pharmacist but went on to become a dentist also. After working as a dentist in private practice and teaching dentistry at the University of Sydney, Dr MacAvoy decided it was time to pursue her dream of becoming a specialist in orthodontics. To become a specialist she spent an additional 3 years at the University of Otago undertaking specialist training in orthodontics to become a registered specialist orthodontist. She did this while concurrently pursuing a research degree in orthodontics at the University of Sydney. Dr MacAvoy is highly qualified in orthodontics and has an impressive list of qualifications behind her name. These include:

Kim has been in the Dental Industry for over 10 years. Starting out as a Dental Assistant then moving to Otago to complete a Diploma in Dental Hygiene, graduating in 2007. She has recently joined The Tooth Company after taking a short break from teeth and living in Fiji for 2 years. 

Kim is enjoying her time back in NZ, despite her tan fading rapidly! Outside of work, Kim enjoys a healthy, active lifestyle, playing sports, fishing & spending time with family & friends. She is a member of NZDHA & regularly attends dental & hygiene conferences, keeping up to date with continuing education. Katy has almost 15 years experience in the dental industry working in various roles in both New Zealand and Australia. While she very much enjoyed dental assisting, she decided to further her scope of expertise and graduated with a diploma in Dental Hygiene in 2011. She has since worked as a Hygienist in not only Perth, but also Christchurch and Auckland. She recently had a break to have a baby boy who is now 9 months old.

Katy enjoys the outdoors and walking her very active dog, playing board games with friends and attending fun, social events.

Keeping up to date with new and innovative dental treatment is important to her, and she enjoys attending regular dental conferences and learning new techniques. Patients comfort and ease is top priority and Katy believes that a good patient and clinician relationship is paramount to great treatment results.
